SOUTH PARK LIONS CLUB was originally chartered as the Library Lions Club on September 13, 1960.
The sponsoring Club was Canonsburg-Houston-Strabane, and District Governor James T. Huntermark presented the charter.
The first President was Lion John Sanders, the first Secretary was James Ross, and the first Treasurer Eugene Ocepek. The Club had a high of 30 members in 1960.
During the year 1980-81, the name of the Township was changed from Snowdon to South Park, so the Club took the necessary steps to change its name to South Park. Lion John Sanders was a member of several cabinets. |
