The halls where they walked are empty today;
The voices that rang are stilled.
The faces we knew have faded from view.
But all is not lost when flesh disappears;
The blessings of love linger on
the voice of a friend will never end.
Though faces and smiles are gone.
For the hails of the heart can never be
Hushed as long as there's memory;
And the hands that gave heed to
Humanity's need will live through eternity.
